Individual and Couples Therapy Intensives

What is Intensive Therapy?
Intensive Therapy is a powerful way to accelerate your healing and growth. Typical individual therapy is 45 minutes to an hour weekly, while typical couple’s therapy is 60-90 minutes weekly. However, intensive therapy allows you to set aside a specific chunk of time – 3 to 6 hours – for intensive therapeutic work. It is a concentrated way to get the power of therapy without having time in between sessions. It helps people journey deeper and experience results faster.
How does it work?
Prior to your intensive, we meet for a Pre-Intensive Interview to determine the goal of the time. We will look at what your life looks like now (your support system, stressors, ways you cope, and places that you want relief, growth, or to take a big step forward). During the intensive, we do 2 things:
For individuals healing from heartbreak
If you’re an individual wanting to heal from heartbreak or have more success in dating and finding love, your intensive will include 2 main steps: 1) We will get to the root of why you’re struggling and provide relief. We do this through IFS (Internal Family Systems or Inner Child work), a powerful form of therapy that works to heal the trauma and conditioning that create unhealthy ways of functioning. 2) We will develop a coaching plan with goals and objectives to help you feel less stuck in your love life.
For Couples
If you’re a couple seeking to build intimacy and reduce conflict, your intensive will include the following 2 main components: 1) We will explore skills to help you self-soothe, regulate, and communicate so that you can manage conflict healthfully. 2) We will get to the root of the behaviors and feelings that cause challenges within the relationship. We do this through IFS (Internal Family Systems or Inner Child work), a powerful form of therapy that works to heal the trauma and conditioning that creates unhealthy ways of functioning.
Depending on where you are in your journey, we may spend more time exploring your past to gain clarity and insight for change. For others, the focus may be more future-oriented, building skills and creating action plans. This process can be very personal and customized to you. After the Intensive, we meet for a Post-Intensive Interview to reflect on the elements that were most meaningful to you and how you want to infuse that into your life moving forward. I emphasize sharing insights with the important people in your life, so they can partner with you and celebrate your progress!
